He is an adjunct professor at Northwestern Health Science University within the Clinical Preceptor Training Program, where he trains and educates interns.
Dr. Geary is a board member of the International Academy of Chiropractic Occupational Health Consultants, as well as member of the Minnesota Chiropractic Association. Dr. Geary currently serves as immediate past president as well as a board member of the Gonstead Methodology Institute, which trains chiropractic students and field doctors in the advanced application of the Gonstead Technique. Dr. Geary is an international speaker and teacher having diplomat status in the Gonstead Clinical Studies Society. He received his post-graduate degree in Spinal Trauma enabling Dr. Geary to manage and effectively treat difficult injury conditions.
The Gonstead methodology is a unique technique that is thorough, complete and specific in both analysis and treatment of the spine. The entire spine is evaluated for the presence of structural joint subluxations (spinal misalignment’s adversely affecting neurological function) which cause ill health.
Dr. Geary received an advanced teacher certification in Power-lift, a patented approach to injury-free, safe, ergonomic lifting techniques used in general industry as well as nursing home facilities. Being an avid athlete himself, Dr. Geary has an insider’s perspective on sports chiropractic care. His routine participation in competitive training and events, along with his past competitive participation in collegiate football and wrestling, have enabled him to provide unique and effective treatment approaches to a variety of athletic injuries.
Dr. Geary has a strong belief in the intimate role of structure and function, in particular the spine, in relation to the nervous system. He has a passion for enabling his patients with chronic health conditions to benefit from the specific application of chiropractic care.
He is happily married and has four great children who occupy his enjoyment and remaining leisure time.
Chiropractor Valeriy Telkov D.C.
Dr. Telkov received his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Northwestern College of Chiropractic in 2018. His interest in the Gonstead system arose early on while attending Northwestern College of Chiropractic. What made the Gonstead system stand out for him was the unique approach of combining thorough x-ray analysis, thermal reading (to detect local inflammation), static palpation, and motion palpation, to get to the cause of a patient’s spinal dysfunction so it can be corrected.
Dr. Telkov’s personal experience with a lower back injury, and having it treated using the Gonstead System, is what set his passion ablaze for chiropractic.
Dr. Telkov has a particular interest in working with athletic injuries due to his own experience with overcoming sports injuries. He has a keen interest in treating general spinal challenges. He enjoys enabling patients the ability to return doing activities they enjoy as soon as possible, by restoring the proper neurological function through the use of precise adjusting techniques developed by Dr. Clarence Gonstead.
In his free time he enjoys playing chess, reading, being outside, and spending time with his family and friends.
Chiropractor Ellen Weis D.C.
Dr. Weis was born and raised in Lakeville, MN and is both grateful and eager to be serving patients in the South Metro through the chiropractic discipline of care. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at the University of Wisconsin River Falls. During her senior year at UWRF, she suffered a serious injury while falling off her young horse which resulted in a significant concussion.
Despite several months of medication and rest a resolution to her condition did not occur. Her best friend referred her to a local chiropractor and after a few months of consistent care she finally experienced a resolution and was able to resume her collegiate studies in a timely manner in order to graduate. This personal experience solidified her choice to enter chiropractic college upon graduation.
Dr. Weis completed her post-graduate chiropractic studies at Northwestern Health Sciences University. During her chiropractic educational experience she became involved in several technique clubs and studies to further her knowledge, however, the Gonstead system provided her with a thorough and scientific methodology to both analyze and provide specific corrective adjustments for complete patient care.
Dr. Weis has an additional passion for horses and equestrians. Her childhood enjoyment and past time, now combined with her chiropractic training and education has enabled her to provide professional direction and care to the special and unique neuro-musculoskeletal needs of equestrians that arise while riding in the saddle. A deeper bond and enhanced communication between equestrians and horses, that is primarily non-verbal, can be achieved with specific and appropriate chiropractic care. By providing a healthy structural and functional relationship with the spine and nervous system a successful relationship between the horse and equestrian occurs.
Dr. Weis is both honored and pleased to be a part of the team at Valley Chiropractic Associates and looks forward to serving your healthcare needs and goals.
Julie OBrien - Naturopathic Practitioner, CCH, CHHP
Julie OBrien received her Naturopathy degree from Trinity School of Natural Health in 2012 and her Classical Homeopathy degree from Northwestern School of Homeopathy in 2016. Julie is board certified through the American Association of Drugless Practitioners and also certified through the Council for Homeopathic Certification.
Julie was diagnosed with Rheumatic Fever at 9 years of age and was put on daily antibiotics from the age of 9 to 18 years old. As an adult, this created a host of physical symptoms in her body. As a result of this struggle, she sought out help in the medical community, but did not find answers there.
She began to study and research natural health options for the physical issues she was burdened with and began to understand that her healing would come when she was able to get to the root cause of the symptoms she was experiencing. Through many years of personal study, she was able to implement different protocols and then observed as her health improved. She then decided to pursue a Natural Health education to further her knowledge base. As a result of her personal understanding and struggles with health issues, this created a passion in her to help others by partnering with them in their health journey.
In her free time she enjoys Pilates classes, going for walks, playing card games & puzzles, preparing delicious healthy food, and spending time with family & friends.
